On Thursday September 23rd from 10 am - Noon at the Centennial Commons (7210 Olive Blvd) in University City, qualifying seniors may obtain ten vouchers ($5 each) for use at authorized farmers’ markets and roadside stands for fresh fruit, vegetables, herbs and honey.
The qualifications are:
- Must be 60+ years of age (for proof provide a driver’s license or birth certificate)
- Must have a gross yearly income of $23,828 or less per person (for proof provide a pay stub, income statement, W-2, tax return, or SNAP membership)
- Must be a Missouri resident (for proof provide a utility bill, paycheck, bank statement, government-issued check, paid property tax receipt or housing rental contract)
The event will be held as a drive by in order to maintain COVID safety protocols. Each senior must have the appropriate documentation from each of the three categories. A member of Aging Ahead will help complete a simple one-page application using the provided information. Then the senior will be given the vouchers. The vouchers can be used for eligible foods at any authorized farmers' market - including the University City Farmers’ Market - until October 31st.
