Functioning as an advisory body to the City Council, the Plan Commission reviews and advises on development and zoning activity in University City. Responsibilities of the Plan Commission include overseeing the master plan of the city and acting as the zoning commission. They review applications for Conditional Use Permits, Subdivisions of land and buildings, zoning code text amendments and rezonings (zoning map amendments).
The Plan Commission usually meets on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 6:30 pm at the Heman Park Community Center. The Plan Commission consists of seven members, appointed by City Council. Typically, the November and December meetings are combined into one meeting in early- to mid-December.
