When are yard waste stickers required?: Yard waste stickers are required to be attached to each biodegradable yard waste bag from January 1 to October 14. Yard waste stickers can be purchased at City Hall - 1st Floor, Centennial Commons Recreation Center, 7210 Olive, Pete's Shur Save 7434 Olive Blvd., BP Amoco 7360 Forsyth Blvd. and Millbrook Pharmacy 7010 Pershing Avenue. 1. What can I recycle at the curbside?: Clean and dry paper, cardboard, cartons (think milk or broth), and household containers made of glass, metal and plastic. All recyclable items can be placed directly inside the blue single stream recycling cart - do not bag your materials. Plastic shopping bags can be taken to your local grocery store for recycling.

2. When is the next bulk item (furniture/appliance) collection on my street?: Check the University City calendar for your specific collection date. The schedule is also available online. Enter "bulk item collection" in the search box. Contact the Public Works and Parks Department at 314-505-8560.

3. Who can help repair my water service line?: St. Louis County Public Works Department administers the Water Service Line Program. Contact the St. Louis County Public Works Department at (314) 615-8420. Please visit

4. How do I request curbside recycling service or a container?: Contact Public Works at 505-8560 to request a new recycling cart. You can also request repairs to the cart.

5. How do I request new trash collection service or a container?: Contact the Finance Department at 314-505-8544 to set up your new trash account. A trash cart will be delivered by the Public Works and Parks Department after your account has been set up. Request a repair to the trash or recycling cart by calling Public Works and Parks at 314-505-8560.

6. Where can I find information on mosquito control and West Nile Virus?: University City contracts with St. Louis County Vector Control for mosquito control services. Contact the Community Development Department at 314-505-8500 for additional information. St. Louis County Services

7. How do I find out more information on the Sanitary Sewer Lateral Repair Program?: Contact Program Administrator in the Public Works and Parks Department at 314-505-8560 . The sanitary sewer lateral program application can be downloaded here.

8. Can I recycle in the University City parks?: Yes, special blue recycling containers are available in the pavilion areas at Heman, Fogerty and Millar Parks.

10. Where can I recycle a computer, television, appliances or other electronics?: There are several ways to safely dispose of and recycle electronics and appliances. Best Buy stores, Batteries Plus stores, and Spectrum-ECycle are a few places that accept small electronics. Click here for more recycling options

How can I safely dispose of paint, motor oil, fluorescent tubes, thermometers and other hazardous materials?: Some hazardous chemicals and materials can be dropped off at the St. Louis County Household Hazardous Waste facility locate at 291 E. Hoffmeister, St. Louis, MO 63125 or 4100 Seven Hills Dr. 63033.
