Following the storms on the evening of July 1, many trees and power lines are down throughout the City of University City. A large portion of the area remains without power. University City crews have been on the streets since Saturday evening clearing roadways.
As of Sunday evening, all streets have been cleared. There are more than 600 Ameren linemen in the area and more to come to address restoring power and removing downed power lines.
Due to storm cleanup efforts, the first of the month street sweeping has been cancelled.
Beginning today, July 3, all University City residents may place any downed tree limbs on the curb of their property for pickup. University City crews will be out in the coming weeks to pick up the debris. Information will be shared to residents as crews are expected to be in their neighborhood. It is anticipated that it will take approximately three weeks to clear all the debris in the area.
In addition, City Hall and Centennial Commons are open to the residents to use as a cooling and charging station. City Hall is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Centennial Commons is open 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
