On Mon., Mar. 13, Bi-State Development will give a presentation to the City Council on the Metrolink, their security assessment of it and their $52M secure platform plan.
They will discuss their security strategies, staffing procedures and more.
The secure platform plan will be funded from the following sources: $12 million from a bond refinancing process dedicated to security; $12 million from Illinois Federal Stimulus; $17.25 million from BSD capital and the American Rescue Plan Act; and $10.75 million from private sector funding.
In addition to a secure gate system, Metro is doubling the number of cameras on buses, trains and platforms that will transmit live feeds to the Real-Time Crime Camera Center.
The presentation will also highlight their pilot program with Metro to provide crisis intervention and behavioral health support at various transit centers throughout the region.
