On July 26, 2022, historic flooding caused severe damage to the Heman Park Pool (Pool) electrical systems, pumps, and front entry way. We are doing everything reasonably possible to hire the staffing needed to operate the Pool and make the needed repairs. Our goal is to open the Pool on time for use during the summer, however there is no date certain for the opening.
On Monday, February 27, 2023, the Mayor and Council approved funding required to make the repairs to the pool’s electrical system. In addition to the electrical system repairs, we are pursuing the improvements that are needed to the facility’s drywall, fencing, and other miscellaneous repairs.
University City staff is working diligently to make these repairs as quickly as possible so that our community can have a safe and enjoyable experience this summer at the Heman Park Pool. As more updates become available, they will be shared on our website and social media platforms.
