To celebrate the U City Loop in the fall, a month-long series of free live music and art demos will kick off from 12 pm until 6 pm, Saturday, October 3, on Leland Ave., next to Vintage Vinyl. The headline band, Giuseppe & Rodrigo, playing from 12 pm until 4 pm, will feature a myriad of blues styles from blues classics to new bluesy acoustic sounds.
To allow for social distancing, Leland Avenue (south off Delmar) will be closed to vehicle traffic for each of the weekly Saturday events that continue through fall 2020. The events are designed to be safe with social-distancing and masks required for everyone (age 2 and over).
Artists and musicians interested in participating in future events should contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Saturday programs are the latest in a series of special activities that began last month to bring people back to the Loop, including special feature Drive-In Movie nights and expanded outdoor dining areas, as well as “Love the Loop” and “Dine on Delmar” events.
Activities in the Loop are produced by a collaboration of the Loop Special Business District and University City departments including Planning, Public Works and Police.
