[ARCHIVED] Candidate Filing Information for April 7, 2020 Municipal Election

Nominations for City Council shall be made by petition signed by not less than 50, nor more than 75 registered voters, who are entitled to vote for the candidate in the Ward where they live.  No voter can sign more than one nominating petition for the same office.  

Petitions can be obtained at City Hall, 6801 Delmar Blvd., 2nd floor, room 4 and/or room 8, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Candidate Informational / Filing Packet

Filing opens at the City Clerk’s office, 6801 Delmar, 2nd floor, on December 17, 2019, and closes January 21, 2020.  Hours of operation are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  There is a $50 filing fee.  The first day filers will do a lottery draw for ballot placement and subsequent filers will follow on the ballot as submitted.  Candidate’s qualifications are; be a qualified voter in of the City for at least 3 consecutive years prior to election, be a resident of the ward from which elected, cannot hold any other elected public office or compensatory position in the City government, and be current on all state and city taxes.  The General Municipal Election will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2020.  Please direct any questions to City Clerk, LaRette Reese, 314-505-8605.
